What level of English do I need?
There is no minimum English level required to study at EF's language schools in England. We welcome students of all proficiency levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. You'll take the EF SET placement test to join a class at your level. Our innovative EF Method guarantees you'll advance one English level every six weeks or study for free—a perfect way to acquire authentic British English.
For those planning to attend a UK university rather than a language school, different requirements apply, with most institutions requiring IELTS scores of 6.0-7.0 or equivalent, which our exam preparation courses at our historic UK campuses can help you achieve through specialized instruction from British-trained teachers.
Are the courses open to all ages?
Yes, we offer our UK courses for everyone, regardless of age. We welcome juniors learning their first English words, teenagers building confidence, university students preparing for academic success, adults and professionals enhancing their career prospects, and seniors pursuing lifelong learning goals.
